Why don't notes show up in exported vcards?

In prior versions of Outlook I could export and e-mail vCards to others and
the "notes" section of the contact would be included.  Since I started using
2003 I don't seem to be able to send the "notes" along with the virtual card.
Recipients can open the vCard with no problem, but the notes do not appear
in the contact.
