when saving a new contact from an email it appears to save.  but when you
look at the contact listing in the address book it has different contacts and
not the new ones.  It's saving somewhere but I cannot locate the contacts
file it is using.  I only want one set of contacts.   Any suggestions?

Use Folder view to determine how many Contact Folders you have in your
profile.
Examine the setting for your Outlook Address Book to determine which Contact
Folders it is displaying.
If you don't know how to do any of that, provide your Outlook version.
Always provide your Outlook version.
