Every time I try to store a phone number for a contact, outlook starts up the
"dial-up" guide. I have no modem connected to my computer so i try to turn
the guide off, but outlook starts it up again over and over again utnil I
close Outlook in the task manager.

I have a broadband connection to the computer.

How do I solve this?

You still need to set your default area code for the operating system so
that Outlook will know how to format the phone number.
