Hi

I've just reinstalled Outlook XP on a new hard disc but cannot add my old
contacts into Outlook as the .pst extension isn't installed on my new
machine for some reason and so not recognised. Have downloaded SP3 but makes
no odds. Any advice before I try reinstalling Outlook.

Many thanks

Andy

What do you mean it's not recognized? PST files never have a file
association listed in the OS. You open them from Outlook's File > Open
command.

Sorry, my mistake. Just seemed like it as the 'jigsaw pieces' icon is not
there and the 'unknown' icon of a page iwth it's top right corner turned
down is. Never mind, so long as it works.

thank you

Andy

Even though the PST has no file association at the OS level, It's icon
should change to that of an Office file once you have a functioning
installation of Outlook on the same partition. What happens if you try to
open this file from Outlook? How did you create and migrate this file?
