I run Windows XP Pro with Outlook 2002. I replaced my hard drive and am
having problems with transferring the old Outlook contacts and address book
to the new setup. I use a removable hard drive to host the Outlook.pst and
Mailbox.pab. Outlook will not show the information contained in them. I
have even tried to update Outlook contacts with a hand held Visor and it
still refuses to show contacts or address book. What am I doing wrong?
That would depend entirely on what you are doing and what happens, neither
of which you mentioned. The Help files tell you how to migrate Outlook data
correctly:

I retreived the Contacts listing of over 500 entries, but the Address Book is
still empty. Is there any way of rebuilding the address book from Contacts?

Sure. Just configure the address book:
