lost group contacts when importing

I imported address group from Outlook Express to Outlook and now they are in
neither place, where did they go?

Gone. Groups in the Windows Address Book cannot be imported.

I still have the addresses in a previously sent e mail is there anyway (other
than reentering them one by one) to get them back to an address book?

You can R click each address and add them to your Contacts. Or you can
use a third party utility that can extract addresses from email headers:
