Outlook 98 Contacts License Number error

Running Outlook 98 with Win98.

An error message just started to appear. "Contacts License
Number is invalid" when I either click on the contacts
folder or send email. The email goes out OK and the contacts
folder looks OK.

Help\about shows the correct serial number.

I recently upgraded to IE6 and OE 6 from 5.5 versions. I run
zone alarm. Any relationship?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

That doesn't sound like an Outlook error message.

I think I have pinned this down to the outlook security
update. Tried installing Outlook 2000, presecurity update,
workgroup 9.0.0.2711, and still have the same error when
accessing contacts either through sending email or clicking
on the contacts folder.

Short of uninstalling and cleaning out all office 2000
components, is there any thing I can do to remove the
security update. I have replaced Outllib.dll and
Outllibr.dll with no effect.

How can I save profiles with the uninstall and reinstall of
office?

Thanks for any help.

Outlook profiles are not touched during uninstall/reinstall.

I don't see how your testing could have pinned the issue down to the Outlook
Email Security Update. Perhaps what you should try is a new .pst file.

It wasn't the .pst file. Tried a newly created one without
change.

I went back and double checked the add-ins. There were five
installed and checked: AVG; Net Folders; Internet Mail;
Exchange Extension Property Page; and Contact List. Turns
out Contact List is the problem. What does this one do? I
believe it is installed by Office 2000. Any good reference
on all?

Thanks for the help.
