How to make e-mail newsletter appear that there is only one recip.

Hi All,
We are preparing a newsletter for collage freshmen and need to make it
appear that the e-mail is only for each person on a large list, rather than
all the addresses appearing in the To: or Cc: fields of the newsletter. How
do we accomplish this?

You would need to do a mail merge for that. If you have Word installed and
it's the same version as Outlook (both 2003, for example), you can do the
merge between the two. Or you can use one of the many 3rd party mass
mailing programs available. Look at the following pages for further

Thank You Jocelyn, Your reply hit the nail right on the head! Got the mail
merge and set up that everyone on the list got an individual e-mail with a
personal greeting to boot. Thanks for your help.

We send the newsletter to one of our own addresses (the name of our company)
and BCC everyone else. If you put all the contacts that are receiving the
newsletter into a distribution list, you can BCC the one distribution list
and everyone will get the newsletter. I don't know if there is a limit to how
many contacts can be in one distribution list. The BCC comes up when you
click on CC.

The mail server may impose a limit to the number of recipients. Also,
messages that are not sent directly to the recipient may be discarded as
likely spam.

Yes, that's true but we are only sending to clients who choose to sign up and
they recognize our name. We also split the recipients into groups and the
server has no problem with that so far.
I will look into the mail merge idea as an alternative
