When I try to save a contact in outlook, the + sign in front of the phone
number disappears. If I select the region (i.e US) it does not show the +
sign in front of the phone number. Why is this so. I am using MS Outlook 2002
SP3. The problem ahs just recently appeared.

Can anyone help me?

Normal behavior. When you select the option to automatically add the country
code, Outlook will format the number using standard international format.
