Why are vcards being converted to messages?   Outlook 2000

When I include a vcard in a message by using the copy and past technique it
is convereted to a message when the message containing the vcard is sent.  
This just started after several years operating properly.

Probably because you're not sending a vCard at all, but are trying to send
an actual contact but it fails because you're sending a non-RTF message or
to a non-RTF recipient. Try using the Actions | Forward as vCard command to
send a real vCard.
