I have installed Outlook2003 and copied the Outlook2000 datafile (with old
emails and address book). Everything works fine. I can access all my old
data, incl the address book.
But, when filling in a new email, there is no connection to the address
book. I e, Outlook does not convert my "short names" in the address list into
valid email account names. When I click the "check names" button, I get the
message "MS Outlook does not recognize the name xxx". When I click the
Address Book icon, I get "The address list could not be displayed".
Where is the missing link...?

Is the Outlook Address Book installed in this mail profile? IF not, you'll
need to add it. If it is, you should check the properties of the contacts
folder to make sure the Outlook Address Book box is checked.
