I purchased a new computer and would like to have my contact information from
my other computer copied some how to my new computer. I tried to export to
the desk top, but for some reason the information changes from Contacts to
the My Documents information. I "think" that if I could copy Contacts to the
desk top "intact", I could copy to a CD or Portable Hard Drive. If this is
possible, I would appreciate instructions. If it is not possible, please
suggest how to accomplish this task. The computer I am attempting to copy
from has "Office 2000". Hopefully copying to a computer that has "Office XP".

I have almost the same question. I would like to save my contacts and
calender to a portable flash drive. If and when you get a responce, would you
mind sending it to me at  trevormartin@pilp.com

Thanks

Just copy and reuse your Outlook data file. Don't export.
The file you need to copy and reuse is your Personal Folders file (*.pst)
It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup:
