When entering a new contact, wherever I need to put in a phone number I have
to put in the (  ) and then the spaces and then the dash to get (555)
555-5555. Is there any way to set a default telephone format? Thanks!

Outlook does this automatically when your operating system's dialing
location is set correctly.

OK -- Would you be good enough to assist me in setting my operating system's
dialing location correctly? I'm not a novice; however, I am not fully
understanding of all the 'little' things -- and I am "older". :) Thanks!

Sure.
One problem. You never told me your operating system.

Control Panel > Phone and modem options... > Dialing Rules, edit your
location and replace the "1" with your area code.

IS there any way to set this up otherwise? When I go to open Phone and Modem
Options I'm told it's not available and I probably have trouble starting
Telephony. I suspect this was disabled by our network adminstrators. In my
old version of Outlook, I could just type phone numbers and have automatic
formatting.

Thanks
_Shawn
