I have office 2003 on my laptop and office xp on my desk top.  I would like
to export my contacts from my laptop (office 2003) and import them to my
desktop (office XP).  Outlook XP doesnt seem to be able to identify the
outlook 2003 format.  any ideas?

Just the same ones that have been posted here countless times.
In Outlook 2003, you must create a PST file in "Outlook 97-2002" format
(File > New > Outlook Data File...) and copy your data into it. Exporting
won't work.
