An earlier version of Outlook (I am going to guess Outlook 2000) used to
automatically format phone numbers for a Contact.  I could type 10 digits
with no punctuation.  Outlook would format the number as (NXX) XXX-XXXX.

In Outlook 2002, a feature that I do not use (dialing from contact
information) seems to have disabled a feature I did use (phone number
formatting).  How can I get phone number formatting back?

None of this has changed. It only works, however, if your dialing location
is set correctly for the OS. Ensure that yours is.
