Is it possible to copy contact info (address book) onto a cd to transfer to
a new machine?

Hi MIchael,

Yes, there are a few ways you can copy Outlook contact information from one machine to another.  For personal users who do not have an Exchange Server, Outlook data is stored in
Personal Folder files (*.pst). Outlook uses Personal Folder files to store Information such as messages, contacts, calendar, etc.  If the new machine has Outlook installed, you can copy the
entire .PSt file to preserve contacts, email and appointment items.

You can also export just the contact information to a file, then import it on the other machine.

Please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles to learn more about backing up the Outlook data and Office program settings.

Note: this article is also adapted to Outlook 2003.
