I keep all my addresses in Contacts. They are listed there in last name,
first name order. But when I write an e-mail and I go to "to" the e-mail
address menu always comes up in first name, last name order. I remember
fixing this problem once before but I can't remember how I did it and I can't
find any help on the subject. Can anyone help?
It would be very easy to help if we knew your Outlook version. Each sorts
the address book differently.
I'll post all the solutions. You chose the right one.
Outlook 97
Outlook 98/2000 in Corporate/Workgroup mode:
Tools menu > Services > Highlight the Outlook Address Book service > Click
Properties > Set sort order
Outlook 98/2000 Internet Mail Only:
Tools menu > Address Book > View menu > Sort by
Outlook 2002/2003:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
