Hi, Hope someone can help.

I recently had to reformat my hard drive and before doing so backed up all
my docs etc including my Outlook 2003 pst file. Having now got the machine up
and running again I have tried to import the file into outlook 2003 via the
import/export option in the file menu. When I try to do this I get the
following error message...

"File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access
the file D:\Outlook(Davids)Outlook.NK2"

Am I going about this the right way? did I save the correct file in the
first place?!?

Thankyou
Rob

Importing is never the correct way to transfer your data.
Read the Help files:

Thankyou, i followed the help files and have managed to retrieve all my
emails and contacts however although i can view the contacts if i go to write
a new email and then click "To" it shows the address book and contacts as
empty. Any idea how i can solve this?

You need to update your Outlook Address Book to use your current Contacts
Folder.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change.
