That's the Address Book view.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Thank you! That was the exact fix. The only thing I had to do after that was
close and reopen Outlook for the changes to take effect.

Thanks Russ but this did not work for me. I followed the instructions below,
made the change and then exited from Outlook & rebooted my laptp. Still all
names are listed as "first, last"
I have just today transferred all these contacts from an old laptop with
EXPro to a new Satellite with Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2007.
Help!
