I would like my categories in contacts to show in a collapsed format.  It
seems everytime I return to my contacts, all 500+ are open.   I do not want
to have to click on view click on expand-collapse, and then click collapse.
Is there a way to set this up to reflect the grous in a collapsed form?

Go to View | Current View | Customize Current View (the Current View menu is
under Arrange By in Outlook 2003), click the Group By button, and choose
"All collapsed" in the Expand/collapse defaults box.

Jocelyn - thank you very much.  Is there any way to change the sort in a
group, with changing every group?   Example:  I have bank contacts that I
like to file by Company Name, and my Personal Contacts or Borrower Contacts,
I like to file by last name.  When I click on last name, all the groups
expand again, not just the one that I want.   Do I have to set up the default
for each group?

If all the contacts are in the same folder, any grouping or sorting you set
will apply to all of them.
