AD and Public Folders - Contacts

If you create a public folder with contacts, does this
info ever hit AD?

Also, any capacity issues? We are looking at using for
supplier info to store for our divs to have access to.

Public folder contacts folders have no connection with AD.

If you get upwards of 20k items, you might want to think about a second processor on the server.
