Distribution List Member Selection

I am using Windows XP with Microsoft Office Professional.

The question deals with contacts, and setting up a new
distribution list (automatic group to send email to).
Let me explain how to get there, and then I'll explain my
preference that I can't seem to figure out how to get
displayed.

1. Open Outlook
2. Go to CONTACTS
3. Go to the pull down arrow on NEW and select
DISTRIBUTION LIST  (you have to use the pull down arrow)
4. Go to the SELECT MEMBERS button

Now, here is my problem - under the "SELECT MEMBERS", our
work setup has the names shown with Last Name first and
alphabetized, which, to me, makes the most sense.  This is
exactly what I want on my home unit which is running the
same software configuration, but it is not set up this
way.  My home unit has the "SELECT MEMBERS" names shown
with First Name first and alphabetized.  My problem is
that I can not figure out how to toggle that name field to
get it to show the Last Name first rather than the First
Name first.

I've gone to TOOLS and tried the contacts options with no
results.  I've gone to VIEW, CURRENT VIEW, CUSTOMIZE
CURRENT VIEW with no results.  I'm sure I am simply
overlooking something, but so far I can not get
the "Select Members" field to toggle between first and
last name.

Your help will be appreciated!

Your Outlook or Office version would have been helpful.
I'll take a stab an hope you're using Outlook 2002:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
