in contacts how do I show name in order last name first first na.

In "File as" field some names appear 'Last name first' and 'First name last'
which is my prefered option. However a lot of the names appear as 'First name
first' and 'last name last', in spite of being set up as I prefer, and this
is very confusing in terms of alphabetic listing. Any ideas on a fix ?

No, I went through the procedure by clicking on the 'display as' icon in
bothe the
name field and the email adress field, selected and entered my prefered
option, save and close, and nothing happened. The display in the contacts
screen remain unaltered

That's because it's the File As... field you need to change, not the Display
As field...
