File As Display in Contacts

I have two XPProSP2 computers that I keep my Outlook sync'd using an Ipaq
3970 (PocketPC2002)
I can not get Name/Company to display in the same way, despite repeatedly
changing them.
The difference in the options displayed in the File As selection are as
follows:
Acme Ltd(John, Doe)
Acme Ltd (John, Doe)
Note the space between the Company and the bracket.
The first displays as:
Acme Ltd(Doe, John)
The second:
Acme Ltd
Doe,John

How can I stop the first way of displaying? (The one with brackets in the
display)
Thanks

You did not provide clear or complete information.
How did you set the default File As... field format?
How are you creating these Contacts and populating their name fields?
How do you get the File As fields to display differently?

1 More info.

2 The "Default" File As is "Last, First". It's only with Company contacts
that I use the File As drop down to select the different format.
I have noticed that once I select Acme Ltd (Doe, John) [ie the one with a
space after the Company and  before the bracket] and then Save-Close, when I
open it up again, go to the File As, the version without the space is no
longer there.
I have not been able to established what sequence of events is changing the
contacts info such that the File As is being changed. I'm not changing it
unless it is to change it back to the layout with the space befoe the bracket.

3 Creating them on either of the PCs using "New Contact" then relying on the
Ipaq to sync the new contact to the other PC. (Note this problem happens to
any "Company" contact no matter old)

4 I get File As to display differently by using its drop down.

I think you may suggest changing the default to Company (Last, First) but
roughly 60% are Last, First  20% Last, First, (Company) and 20% Company,
(Last, First)

Try entering the name elements using the Full Name... dialog box, not the
Full Name field.
What does the Ipaq synch have to do with this?
I cannot reproduce this behavior, nor have I seen it reported.
