It is enabled by default when the dialing location is set correctly for the
OS.

I have the same problem. I have set it using control panel->phone and modem
options -> adding a location, and it still does not work. Is that the
correct place to set it? I have OL2003/XP Pro/SP2. Thanks for your help.

When I looked at the location again, I realized I had made a mistake. Here
are the steps in detail (these are in Windows XP):
1. Go to Control panel->phone and modem and open it
2. Click on "New" button
3. Select "United States" for the "Country/Region" drop-down
4. Add the 3-digit Area Code under "Area code"
5. Add other detail if needed
6. Click "OK" and "OK" again
And the feature should work. I had a "1" under "Area code" - dumb mistake!
Thanks

I have to second Pad113's message - OutlookNovice, your simple, exact
instructions were exactly what I needed. Why can't the "experts" provide
this info??? This is at least the 3rd time I have asked a question where the
"experts" have not provided a simple, exact answer. "Experts" , please take
note.
