I have Outlook 2002. I have several contacts in the
contacts folder, each belonging to some category or the
other. How do I send an email message to all contacts
belonging to a particular category ? When I open 'new
message', I can see all the contacts, but the category
field is not visible so its not possible to make a
selection based on category.

Use the Contacts Folder.
View > By Category
Select a Category Header.
Actions > New Message to Contact.
