from a PC running Outlook 2003 to a PC running Outlook 2002?

Create a new Outlook data file in "Outlook 97-2002" format and copy your
Contacts into it.

Russ --

I was able to save it in the Outlook 97-2002 format, but am now having
trouble importing it.  I went to File, Import and Export,  Import from
Another Program or File, Personal Folder File, fold the saved file and
selected it and clicked Next, and then clicked Finish on the Import Personal
Folders box.

The dialogue box disappears, but the file is not imported.  Am I doing
something wrong?

Thx,

David

Yes. You are importing.
Just open the file. Don't import it.

Thanks, Russ - I'll give that a try.

Export it out to a PST file and inport it back in look in the file menu

Wrong. Doing so will create a file that will not be compatible with Outlook
2002.
That is one of the many reasons we advise against exporting/importing to
transfer Outlook data. Use that method only if you need to convert to a
different file format for another program.

Russ, can you provide the default file name and path for the address book in
Outlook 97?  I had  been trying to export/import from Outlook 97 to Outlook
2003 but now I see that I should just transfer the file.
