I have my contacts in Categories.  Can I export one or more specific
cateogries vs. the entrie list of contacts?

You can only export a folder, not a Category.
So just copy a Category into a temporary subfolder and export that.

Thanks Russ - I have established subfolders under CONTACTS, but struggling to
how to copy specific categories into the new sub folders.  In the process,
appears to be copy my entrie contact list - - guess I could go to sub-folder
and delete those not needed, but seems like I am missing something.

I have copied just ONE specific category (done twoice - once buy highlighting
individual names in category and the other by hihglighting the collaped
category header), but each time it is copying ALL contacts over to new
subfolder

Any other thoughts?

In trying to do this - I have deleted a category from my contacts folder (my
fault and nothing to do with what you have suggested)

Any idea on how to retrieve (it is not on the clipboard)?

You deleted a category or the contacts within that category?
Anything you actually deleted should be in your Deleted Items Folder.
It's also possible you moved it to the wrong place. Try using Advanced Find
to look for one of these Contacts and see if and where it turns up.

Wheee....... you saved the day!  Was able to reclaim with some work from the
delete list.

OK - to move a category of contacts to a separate folder (sub-folder) -
1.  highlight those contacts within the category
2.  Edit
3.  Copy to Folder
