We want to create a distribution list where each recipient can only see their
own name and don't know who else the message went to.  Is this doable?  We
are using Outlook 2003.

No. You'd have to utilize a mail merge for this functionality. You can
initiate a mail merge from within outlook by going to Tools, Mail Merge
while in the Outlook contacts folder.

Your other option is to create the distribution list, and put it in the BCC
field. then the recipients don't see their own name or anyone elses.
