All of a sudden, when I enter phone numbers in the contact
respective contact fields, the number no longer formats
itself (i.e. parethesis, dashes).  I must format
manually.  Could not find any reference to this problem or
setting to correct. HELP!  Thanks.

The only time I've seen that happen is if your default dialing location has
not been set.
Did you make any changes to your configuration that you didn't tell us
about--you know, just before "all of a sudden?"

Russ,

Thanks for the reply, however the phone settings appear
correct.  I am not aware that I made changes to any other
settings.  Perhaphs a program or patch install was the
culprit.  Couldn't find anything in MS Office knowledge
base.  Still stumped....

I know of no other cause for this unless you're using a custom Contact form.
If you're using a PST, have you tried repairing it?
Have you tried resetting your default dialing location?
