Running a Search in Contacts does not include the company name (unless
there's no associated name) and nickname fields - it should.

There are countless ways to run searches. Which are you using?
Do Find or Advanced Find not do what you need?

I see what you're saying regarding from within the contacts screen itself. I
was refering more to the 'Type a contact to find' field that is in the
Outlook Today screen. That is the one I most commonly use.
Also, sorry for not responding sooner, for some reason, I didn't get
notified of your response.

"Type a Contact to find" does a very limited search.
Find or Advanced Find should suit your needs much better.

Agreed; hence my suggestion. My hope is that this might be considered in any
future upgrades/releases - just including those two additional fields in that
particular search would make a huge difference and cater to the vast majority
of 'quick' searches
