How to recover autoarchive items?

I had my Autoarchive settings set to archive everything - I never realised
that it would archive contacts. I think I may now have old contacts removed
from my address book, and so I thought I would copy them from the archiove
folders. But for som reason, the archive folders listed in the Folder List do
not include contacts. Any idea why this is so? Whilst the autoarchive was
happenng I definitely saw contacts being archived, which prompted me to
cancel the archive.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Autoarchive never archives Contacts.
That is why they are not in your archive folder.
You must have done something else to lose them.
Do you back up your data?

Russ, Thanks.....hmmm?

I am re-assured by that. The reason I thought this must be happening is
that, after responding "yes" to the archiving request, I saw a whole series
of messages flashing by(bottom right of the Outlook window) indicating it was
archiving contacts. Since thes were flashing by at qyute a rate, maybe it was
just telling me it was skipping over these. Anyway, I must have jumped to
conclusions.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. Much appreciated. I didn't appear to have
lost any contacts but it's hard to check 2,000 or so....
