I don't have a dialing location? I am using a cable modem for my connection.
This problem recently started?
How do I set a dialing location anyway? And why?
If you reside on this planet, you have a dialing location. Just because
you don't dial up over a phone line to connect to the Internet does not
mean you don't make phone calls. Outlook assumes you do make phone calls
and needs to know how you would like your phone numbers formatted so
they can be dialed correctly. Accordingly, if Outlook does not know your
dialing location you will force it into a state of deep confusion.
Outlook may even fibrillate.
Just play along and tell Outlook where you are. You did not state your
operating system. In Windows XP you specify this in Control Panel >
Phone and Modem options... It's much easier than defibrillating Outlook
every time you have to enter a phone number.

ANYTHING is easier than defibrillating Outlook, under ANY circumstances!
