Is there anyway when I enter a birthday or anniversary on a contact for it to
automatically show up on my calendar?

That is the behavior by design. Is this not working for you? Are you using
the default Contact and Calendar folders?  If you put a birthday in a
contact's details, does it not show up?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.  Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, mbraisher asked:

It appears that it will with names that have been there for awhile, but not
with new names added to the contacts.  Any suggestions?
