My default Contacts folder has strangely moved and is now a sub-folder of
Journal.
I can't delete it. I can't move it (or don't know how to).

It is no good simply creating another contacts folder at the top level
because it will still not be the default folder.

I just want to move it back to the top level beneath Outlook today.
I'm using OL 2002 SP3

What happens when you try to drag it from where it is and drop it on the
root of the folder tree (Outlook Today)?

I get the message "Can't move the items. Special folders including Inbox,
Contacts.....can't be moved."
Any other ideas?

It's a long shot but try starting Outlook once with the /resetfolders
command line switch. This switch (and a few other really helpful ones) are
discussed here:
