In Outlook 2002 I cannot view my contacts other than in the main outlook
area. When I attempt to configure my address book I get an error message that
"The account you have is not fully configured..." I've tried reloading
Outlook, starting a new account and importing all to no avail. Anyone have
any ideas? It sure would be nice to use the lookup and groups features.

Do you have a valid mail account in this profile?

Russ, if you mean can I send and recievem yes.

In particular, if I am in the INBOX and click New, and then click "To" the
Select Names dialogue appears but without any entries. Then if I click Tools,
Email Accounts, and choose either Directory buttons when I go to the
Additional Accounts then E-mail Accounts any choice I make results in the
following error message:

"The account you have added is not fully configured. It might not work
properly until re-configured correctly"

Click OK out of it all and nothing. I have Contacts in Outlook and I can
add/delete/modify at will but I cannot get Outlook to use these for my email
purposes.

Now, I will admit to being dense at times but all else seems fine. It works
on my desktop but I'm one of those road warriors who will not see my desktop
for at least the next ninety days.

Enough sniveling. Thanks for your help any further assistance will be most
apprecitated.

That error message means you have some fundamental component missing from
your profile, usually a valid mail transport. What mail transport are you
using? How did you configure the default Outlook Data File for this profile?
Have you followed these steps to configure the Outlook Address Book?
