Exporting Contacts

Hello,

I have a pretty big problem. Our sales people here at our office have been
using MS outlook for quite some time as a diary in their daily contacts with
their customers.
In the free text field, they have kept a logg on what they are doing with
their customers. A typical line would be:
050622 Discussed the price with XXX and he said....
050623 Phoned YY and discussed bla bla.

Now we are starting to use a CRM system where all our contacts should be
logged. To this CRM program it is possible to import a file from example
excel.
Therefore I would like to export the old log for the contacts in Outlook to
excel and from there further on to our CRM.
I have used the import and export function and made an excel file so far so
good. BUT the texts appears like this:
050622║Discussed the price...║050623║phoned...
And all of this information is in the same cell in excel. It seems that the
"║" means either change of row or that there is a space. What do you suggest?
How should we export this information. if it is easier to go over MS access
we could do so too.
What we would like to get out from excel is a file containing:
NAME, DATE, ACTION

Please, if anyone has a suggestion I would be soooo happy!

Best regards
Annika

The marks probably indicate Tab and carriage return characters, which Excel cells cannot handle. A solution may be to export to another format (maybe Access) and clean the data up there, before exporting to Excel.
