In OL 2003, how can I update all my existing contacts (created at various
times with various versions of OL) to use a custom form I just created?

You need to change the MessageClass on the existing items to point to your new form's class. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm#convert for several tools and scripts to accomplish this.

Sue,

Thank you for the support, but I was unable to get any of the packages on
the list to run.  I think I followed the proper directions, but couldn't get
either of them to work.   The Contact Genie seemed to be focused on OL2003,
but wouln't finish and the VB Script Method would't run either.  Can you help
again???  thanks

Joe

All ContactGenie products support Outlook versions '2000-'2003 inclusive.

The product you need to accomplish what you want is ContactGenie -
MessageClass Modifier (free) and can be found here:
http://www.contactgenie.com/cgtmcm.htm

If you have any specific questions/issues re: CG-MCM - please feel free to
contact CG support directly (all contact info is on our website)

Thanks to all!! I got it to work using the contact genie.  We had a few
things to work through on our end, but once that was done it was quick and
easy.

Thank You!!

Glad to hear you got it working

I reviewed the messages submitted to CG Support and just to clarify what the
issues were for any one else reading this thread - cause of the problem (at
least for CG-MCM) was that CDO wasn't installed and the error message that
occured was "less then intuitive" for the typical person - something that we
are going to address in the next update so that the issue doesn't repeat
itself. As it turns out - seems we both benefited from the exercise :-).
