Russ,
I followed these instructions and it is still the case that When I click on
"To:" from either Email or from the Calendar (if I'm inviting someone to a
meeting), I do not get the full list of people in my Contacts list. I have
checked and double-checked to make sure that Contacts is accessible to the
Address book. Everything looks right except that I can't access individuals
in my Contacts when I click on "To:"...
Using Outlook 2002.

Outlook won't include a contact in the Address Book view if that contact
doesn't have an electronic address. Is that the case here?

Re: my contacts not being in the list of contacts available from either Email
or Calendar... I finally figured it out through *much* trial and error.
Turns out that if someone in your Contacts does not have an email address,
they will not show up in your Address book. I get why, but you'd think the
system help or elsewhere would make this clear. Therefore, you can't make an
appointment with someone from your Contacts database *from the Calendar*
unless they have an email address.
But there is a workaround...
You can, however, set up a meeting/calendar item with an email-less entry,
but do so *from inside of the Contacts db*, not the Calendar. Right click on
the contact *as you're dragging it* to the Calendar icon. (Real obvious...)
You then have the following choices:
* Address as new meeting [requires an email address be present; the rest
below do not]
* Copy here as appointment with text [this pastes the contact info into the
notes about the calendar item; it also pastes the name of the contact into
the Subject for the meeting]
* Copy here as appointement with shortcut [similar to above, but puts
shortcut to vcard in notes field of meeting; click on the vcard to get the
details of the contact.]
* Copy here as appointment with attachment [same as above but actually puts
the vcard into the notes instead of a shortcut to it]
* Move here as appointment with attachment

The only purpose of the Outlook Address Book is to provide a list if
electronic addresses to which you might want to send messages. Accordingly,
only those Contacts with electronic addresses will appear.
