I will try to keep this short, because I hope to get a helpful solution:
1.) Over time with my PDA and Outlook (all versions I have since W98)
somehow I have duplicate names that I can not get rid of..
2) When I started using Plaxo to keep my contacts up to date. I made new
folders and just drug the duplicates into those folders.. and thought that
would be a good way to dump them..
3) Just rebuild my pc, fresh install of XP Pro and Office 2003... ugh now I
have duplicate contact folders (2) (3) as well as the named contact folders..
and by looking into each one, they do NOT all contain the same data.. ie
Friends has 18 names and Friends(2) has 10.. every one is like that..

IS there someway to copy/merge so that I can start over with just one
contact folder with one entry per name??

I know I should have done this long ago.. but was afraid of losing info.

Other than copying/moving by hand, there are 3rd party programs that will
help you with this -- see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm#dupes.

Thanks I have tried one, but it is so slow.. and Outlook keeps generating a
request to allow it to provide access.. even setting it for 10min.. it keeps
popping up.. Is there a way to stop that from happening? I went into the
security tab but could not find a setting.
