Outlook (2002) and Word are not responding after first use of hyperlinks.
Requesting a link to an e-mailed link or to a link in Outlook Contacts causes
Outlook to hang.

What does "requesting a link to an e-mailed link" mean?  How are you making
the "request"?

I mean by stating "requesting a link" that I am mousing to a hyperlinked URl
address in Outlook Contacts or to an underscored URL address in a WORD
document that should redirect me to the underscored address.  I find that
periodically re-booting the system temporarily corrects the condition where
Outlook "hangs" and I have to at least close if not re-boot.

First try resetting things with Itnernet Explorer's Tools>Internet
Options>Programs>Reset Web Settings.  If that doesn't help, try a Detect and
Repair from Outlook's Help menu or from Control Panel's Add and Remove
Programs for Microsoft Office.

The truth is that I've tried repairing Outlook (using their repair database
tool) and I've tried re-installing OFfice including Outlook both with limited
success.  For whatever reason, re-booting the system is what seems to cure
the problem.  Outlook has simply become really flaky and an inconvenient
tool.

Thanks for your thoughts and sugegstions.
