All my contacts in Outlook 2000 are sorted last name, first name. How do I
re-sort all of my contacts in one go to first name last name without changing
each one individually.

Not enough information.
Sort in what view?
Using what mail support mode?

'My contacts' in 'Contacts' View.  No exchange server used. Just personal
contacts that have been added using the add new contacts menu.

There are innumerable possible views of your Contacts Folder.
To which are you referring and how did you configure it?

Address card view. Default configuration. Have not changed anything. All
contacts were transferred across from my phone.

Slowly and inexorably relevant information begins to appear.
Why do you leave out the details that would permit an answer to your
question?
Anything else you would like to share about how you created these Contacts,
or shall I just refer you to a mind reader?
