multiple contacts folders

Can I have more than one contacts folder under Personal Folders, say one for
club members, and one for personal, etc and still be able to reach them for
mail? Not a distruibution list, I'd prefer to have separate folders for
different uses to keep the personal folder from being so large.

Probably.
It is not clear what you mean by "reach them for mail."
If you mean have them appear in the Outlook Address Book, then just enable
each folder as an email address book in its properties.

Aha! That was what was missing! I'm glad you interpreted what I meant. I did
want to include them in the Address book and this was what I needed to do.
