I recently upgraded outlook and saved my old PST file, which I now linked to
the new outlook program.  When I open outlook, all of my CONTACTS are there,
but when I start a new email message and click on "TO:", everything is blank.
I think it is trying to look for a PAB file, however, all of my contacts are
stored somewhere within the PST file (not a separate address book file).  If
all of my contacts are showing up in the "contacts" folder, how do I get
emails to reference whatever file they are stored in - versus a blank
personal address book file?

What version of Outlook are you using?

Also, right click on your Contact folder, choose Properties, go to the
Outlook Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an email address
book" box
