I was told that outlook was able to retrieve the last 120 or most recent
emails addresses that have been used in the last few months, etc.

What I believe what your referencing is the autocompletion cache that exists
in Outlook 2002 and 2003. It's controlled by the "Suggest names while
completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" checkbox on Tools>Options>E-mail
Options>Advanced E-mail Options.

Each time you enter an address in any of the recipient fields and then cause
Outlook to resolve that address, either with CTRL-K, the "Check Names"
button, or by tabbing out of the field (you can tell an address has been
resolved when it becomes underlined with a solid line), if you've enabled
the option described above, Outlook places that address in a file whose name
matches your mail profile name and whose extension is ".NK2". This file is
located in the (usually hidden) folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook. This
file can hold up to 1,000 addresses, but it's not human-readable. You have
some control over its contents when you're entering an address and Outlook
presents a list of suggestions from that file. If you wish to remove an
entry, you can use the arrow keys to navigate to the unwanted entry and then
press Delete. To fully control the contents of the file, you need a third

hello brian - thankk you. I will move forward and see if I can accomplish my
task. I am moving my email to gmail and do not have a complete contact or
address book. So if I can retrieve addresses from older messages sent that
would be very helpful.

The Ingressor tool I mentioned can certainly be used to populate your
Contacts folder with the contents of the autocompletion cache, if that's
your goal.

hello brian. there are a couple of issues happening with the outlook
account. First off if an name, email address is added to the address book it
does not show up in the contact list all the time. If it does show up when
you send a new email and want to address it to the new input. It does not
show up in the list of name suggestions. However, if you check the address
or contact items it will be in both.
I have tried different scenarios but not able to determine if I am the
problem and not the software.

So to determine if my contacts are uptodate I would like to see all the
address I have sent out to ... and to that end send out an email to all my
clients regarding upcoming promotion.

You don't add addresses via the address book interface. You add them in the
Contacts folder. As long as they have an electronic address (either e-mail
or fax number), they'll also appear in the address book.

Only addresses that have been previously resolved show up in the suggestion
list. It is not tied to your contacts in any way.

The Ingressor tool can make a list of the names in the autocompletion cache.
There's no other way, since it is not a human-readable file. Remember,
though, that the cache stores at most 1,000 addresses and that its contents
are addresses, not contacts.

Ingressor might be a good product, but I wouldn't know because their
customer service is TERRIBLE and rude.

I downloaded the software, and the code they emailed me to unlock it
did not work. Randy kept insisting that I had "clearly" tried to
download it to more than one computer (in other words, steal their
software), and would not give me another one, or work with me to try
and figure out what had happened. He said that he wouldn't give me a
phone number to speak on the phone to try and figure out the
discrepancy because he didnt want to "waste time on it."

Randy would only insist that I was trying to cheat him out of money,
because he "knows how their software works" insisting that I had tried
to download the product to more than one computer. I kept telling him
that I only own one computer, so there had to be a discrepancy, and
suggested that he try and look up whether the activation code I was
sent had ever been used. He never responded ot this suggestion, and
insisted that I was wrong and he was right. He is patronizing,
unhelpful, and accusatory of a customer who was only trying to use his
product - in addition to being incredibly rude and (I assume) insecure.

Ultimately, I won the disputed charge with American Express after
sending them copies of our email exchanges. Be wary of dealing with
this company, as their customer service is horrendous and you might
never receive the product you paid for.

If all your addresses are Internet addresses and the manipulations you wish
to make on the NK2 file are relatively limited, this free tool may prove
