When I insert a Business fax number it automatically inserts the area code
to the Fax number entered.
Issue is that we are using Facsys, we are unable to send it locally because
the location in the modem properties have the area code entered and then we
get an undeliverable error (because the area code is dialed)... even though
we don't have a modem installed... I cannot remove if it doesn't exist (the
modem) and cannot edit the present config for the area code ...

Question: Does anyone know how I can remove or de-activate the auto insert
feature...

You can't. Masking of phone numbers in Outlook is hard coded. The Fax
programs with which Outlook integrates all require the country and area
code.
