My Outlook 97 will not open. It shows the welcome screen and then closes and
says "OUTLOOK.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry
for the inconvenience."  I use Outlook Express for my email but how do I get
my contacts out of Outlook?  I have tried searching for the file but I do not
know what name or file type I am looking for exactly.  Can anyone help
please?  I am using Windows XP by the way.  Thanks!

Have you tried using the File menu > Import commands  in OE? OE should know
about where the contacts are (in your PST file). Also, have you tried
creating a fresh MAPI profile in the Control Panel's Mail applet to try to
fix Outlook's problem?
