Is your Contacts folder flagged as an address book? Check here: Right click
on the Contacts folder, choose Properties, go to the Outlook Address Book
tab and see if the box is checked

Do you have multiple address books or contact folders mentioned in your
Address Book dialog?

The ONLY thing I have in the "name of Address books" is CONTACTS.  ONLY
listed once. Nothing else.

If you uncheck the "Show as address book" box, quit Outlook, restart it,
then recheck the box does it make any difference? This is an odd problem
since everything seems in order

I do not see the Outlook Address Book tab in Properties.

My problem... I have a long list of contacts. BUT when I click on TO: the
box comes up and NO contacts show.
When I start to type in a name it comes up with the address.

I have a similar problem.  I am trying to import my contacts to Outlook 2002
(Office XP) and I'm successful in getting my Contacts to be there, but not my
Outlook Address Book.

When I right click on Contacts and look at the Outlook Address Book tab, I
see the checkbox for making Contacts my address book (which is unchecked) but
the wording is greyed out so I am unable to check the box.  Help  please!

Is this Outlook2003?  If yes, you need to add the Outlook Address Book
service to Outlook.  Tools-Options->Mail Setup->Directories->Add.

I am having the same problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 with WinXP.
I own two mail accounts, I have created a profile for each and added the
other one.  I have made sure the show as address is tick for both.  I have
also given both owner permissions to the address book with both account names.

I also have a contact account in public folders.  This too has the box ticked.

Now if I open either profile I can see that account contact and the public
contact but I can not see my other email account contact.

The only way I can see it is by opening the doing the 'open shared contacts'
and copying the info from there to insert into my email.  Is there anything
else I can try because it is very annoying (I do not want to move the
contacts of both accounts to the public folder area)?
