MS Office Forum / Outlook / Contacts / September 2005Can't access Contacts copied from PST on old PC
I recently copied an Outlook 2003 PST from one PC to Outlook 2003 on another PC and placed it in a new folder. When I opened Outlook the newly copied Contacts were visible with the Distribution Lists intact. However, when trying to use the Distribution List items in a new message the following error occurs: #################################### The address list could not be displayed. The Contact Folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. That will save me a lot of time tomorrow when I visit the client. What about the other problem? Outlook now has the old Outlook PST plus the new one in a new folder. How are you performing the copy? Are you using drag-and-drop, select and Edit>Copy to Folder, or some other method?
