I am currently ussing OutlookXP for my mail and OE6 for newgroups and
occasional access to Hotmail.  I originally setup OE6 to be my main mail and
contracts and then imported the mail and contacts over to OutlookXP.  In
doing the OE6 to OutlookXP setup OutlookXP kept the contact phone format of
xxx.yyy.zzzz (rather than the (xxx) yyy-zzzz format that OutlookXP seems to
want to force).

In the past when I used OE5 and Outlook 2K I could insert a contact in OE5
with my format for the phone number and it would automatically show up in
the Oulook 2K contact list with the xxx.yyy.zzz format.  But now when I try
the same action with OE6 and Outlook XP the contact and phone format are not
automatically updated in OutlookXP from OE6.  Even worse, when I import the
contacts from OE6 into OutlookXP, the phone format is now being changed to
the (xxx) yyy-zzzz format.

Is there some action that can be taken with OE6 or OutlookXP that will allow
my preferred phone contact format of xxx.yyy.zzzz to end up in OutlookXP?

No. Formatting of phone numbers is hard coded in Outlook.

Well I am glad that to know Microsoft has decided how I would like to see my
phone numbers listed.............
